Be part of a new holiday tradition in Oklahoma City! This month, the Myriad Botanical Gardens are transformed into a winter wonderland—featuring everything from outdoor ice skating to breathtaking light displays, plus the newest holiday shopping experience in the Oklahoma City metro.

Prodigal LLC is a full-service sports and entertainment agency based in Oklahoma City. They are the driving force behind the Oklahoma City Barons hockey team and will welcome professional soccer to Oklahoma City in the spring of 2013 with the OKC Energy FC. But this month, the agency is all about bringing the best of boutique-style holiday shopping to the metro, through a variety of local vendors offering their goods in a beautiful holiday setting.

Family-Friendly Holiday Shopping

Prodigal’s Winter Shops opened in late November,  adding a new layer of holiday fun to the Myriad Gardens’ ongoing festivities.  “We are looking forward to adding to the feel, ambiance and experience of the Myriad Gardens and Downtown in December,” explains Josh Evans, Prodigal’s Director of Communications.  “People enjoy coming to skate and look at lights [and we feel that] there is an opportunity for a festive, retail atmosphere to succeed.”

“With the Winter Shops, Prodigal is excited to be adding to excitement and buzz about the downtown area,” Evans continues.  “Oklahoma City is undergoing a renaissance right now.  Prodigal is proud to be a part of the growth of the city and to provide events and activities to make the quality of life that much better.”

Showcasing Local Vendors

The Winter Shops offer more than just a typical holiday shopping experience. Located among many Downtown in December events and attractions, the shops help bring local businesses to the forefront of holiday shopping—offering a fun atmosphere, convenient location and an additional reason to visit the downtown area.

The Winter Shops feature ten local vendors, featuring everything from books to sports memorabilia. “With the growth happening around downtown Oklahoma City, we’re excited to provide an avenue for local businesses to showcase their products,” Kristina Davis, Partnership Sales intern at Prodigal adds. “We hope the Winter Shops becomes a premiere event in downtown Oklahoma City. ”
