Family-Friendly Fall Activities in OKC

PSLs, sweater weather, candles, etc. are not the only way to get in the spirit of fall. This month my family is determined to enjoy all our go-to fall activities in OKC.

  1. Parks and Playgrounds. We visit a park at least 2-3 times per week these days. Most A toddler at the bottom a green slide enjoying fall activities in OKCplaygrounds arenโ€™t majorly crowded, especially if you can go at non-peak times (right after school and weekend afternoons tend to be busiest). A toddler can run and climb to their heartโ€™s delight, which ensures a good nap/nightโ€™s sleep! The Myriad Botanical Gardens is a staple in our home. Any time weโ€™re getting restless or in need of a change of scenery, the Myriad is there for us! We usually canโ€™t even explore the whole park by the time our toddler is tuckered out. The bamboo jungle in the childrenโ€™s area is one of the best highlights and Pumpkinville is opening soon! Find a new-to-you metro park with our full list of favorites.
  2. Pumpkin Patches, of course! Hands down, Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch has always been a favorite for my family. I was a little skeptical to attempt the drive from urban OKC to Arcadia with a toddler in tow, but this location was well worth the drive. The moment you walk up to the entrance you are greeted with autumn charm, from pumpkins and mums to a little bridge over a pond and then on to the admission barn. Petting farms, corn mazes and creative playground structures solidify Parkhurst as a must-visit attraction for ourย fall activities in OKC. Iโ€™ve found the best time to attend is right at opening: lower crowds and the animals are hungry for a snack! Check out all the OKC area pumpkin patches here.
  3. Snuggle In! There really is nothing like a good night in. Hunker down with your favorite movie (here are a few favorite Halloween-themed flicks) and family movies sorted by decade), a cozy blanket and your favorite snack/drink. Or stretch out and get some fresh air, with a healthy side of competition! Whoever can find all items on MetroFamilyโ€™s fall scavenger hunt can pick the next movie!
  4. Sweets and Treats! What’ better than homemade treats and hot chocolate in the fall? Katiebugโ€™s Shaved Ice & Hot Chocolate already has the best hot chocolate in town, and now you can enjoy that treat while strolling through their outdoor pumpkin patch.

I hope your family enjoys your favorite fall traditions this season. If you need help finding more go-to fall activities in OKC, check out all our autumn adventures here.
