Description
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman. The production is centered around six mid-pubescent children who compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime. As each speller takes the mic, they give glimpses into their lives at home. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially fictional words), hoping never to hear the soul-crushing "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.
Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. This bee is rated for viewers 13 and up.
