Description

First Americans Museum is partnering with Oklahoma Children’s Theatre to present the world premiere of “Little Loksi” at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at First Americans Museum's Five Moons Theater. The performance is a fundraiser for the pop-up book-inspired exhibition coming to FAM in 2025. Patrons are invited to come early and meet book author Trey Hays (Chickasaw) and musical composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate (Chickasaw), who will be signing books and CDs in the FAMstore.

Adapted from the book, this production incorporates animal names and select vocabulary of the Chickasaw language. A combination of costumed characters and large-scale puppets bring this story to life on stage. In the story, Little Loksi (Little Turtle) is having fun with his family when his world is suddenly turned upside
down. Flipped onto his back with no way to roll over, he must rely on his friends and family to help him. Little Loksi will warm the hearts of adults and children alike as different animals come together to help him in this tale of friendship.

Show tickets do not include gallery access. Tickets can be upgraded on the day of the show to include gallery access for $8.
