We are rolling into Halloween weekend! Although 2020 has brought us a trifecta: a full moon on a Saturday during a pandemic, we are certain metro families are celebrating and making memories together in their own special ways.
We know because we asked! Some readers are all in on the traditional trick-or-treat while other families are opting for at-home parties. Ever-popular, trunk-or-treat events have switched to drive-thru style.
Things are certainly different this year. If you are looking for some Halloween happenings, here are four ways to celebrate Halloween this weekend!
- For those looking for an at-home option, whether for health concerns or for preference, here are some sweet and creative ideas to celebrate this most candy-centric of holidays. You can go all out with a candy scavenger hunt or laidback with spooky stories and s’mores around a fire.
- Watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown for free using Apple TV+. While you won’t find the beloved special on network television, families can stream it for free from Oct. 30 – Nov. 1 at tv.apple.com. Or, check out one of these other must-watch, family-friendly Halloween movies.
- Lace up your skates and head to SkateGalaxyOKC’s Spook and Roll Halloween Party! You can get the party started early with their afternoon session or party into the night. Those in costume get a discount on admission. Or browse these other community events happening on Oct. 31. (Bonus: Don’t forget to submit a photo of your costumes to our costume contest for a chance to win great prizes including a weekend getaway to the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine, Texas!)
- Score some spooky deals at metro restaurants! Moms and dads need a treat too. Skip the meal prep and cash in on these kids-eat-free deals and more on Halloween.
The staff at MetroFamily wishes you and your family a safe and happy weekend of family fun! Mask up, practice safe social distancing and have a happy Halloween!!
