Description
This three-day festival features a diverse line-up of evening performers and educational events with the musicians during the day. Jazz in June is a free, family-friendly festival.
Kicking off on Thursday, June 13, the festivities commence with a workshop featuring the prodigious Oz Noy at Norman Library West at 2 p.m., followed by captivating performances by Paul Benjamin and Oz Noy featuring Jimmy Haslip and Steve Pruitt at Andrews Park, starting at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. Friday, June 14, offers another opportunity for music aficionados to immerse themselves in the jazz scene with a workshop featuring Sungazer and Adam Neely at Norman Library West at 2 p.m. The evening heats up with performances by the energetic King Cabbage Brass Band and Sungazer at Andrews Park, starting at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. On Saturday, June 15, jazz enthusiasts can expand their knowledge and skills at the Library Clinic at Norman Library West, featuring Vincent Herring, James Carter, and Randy Brecker of Something Else! at 2 p.m. The day continues with the Trevor Galvin Quartet at the park Gazebo at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Summer Jazz Collective featuring Vincent Herring, James Carter, Randy Brecker, and Adam Neely at Andrews Park at 7:30 p.m., culminating in a sensational performance by Something Else! at 9 p.m.
