Spring typically brings the highest potential for severe weather in Oklahoma, including tornadoes. Just a reminder that everyone needs to find a way to protect their personal information.
Here are a couple of tips to help:
- Put all important papers (insurance policies, birth certificates, social security cards, wills, etc) in a small lock box that you can grab and run in case of emergency. You may want to place them in plastic storage bags unless your box is waterproof.
- Download all important computer files on an external drive and keep it updated. You may also want to store it in your lock box or some other convenient location. The external drive is also a great place to store those digital or scanned family photos.
- Review your property insurance policies with your agent to be sure you have sufficient coverage.
- Last but not least, heed all warnings. Even though they sometimes seems like hype or overkill, it’s better to safe than sorry.
