Teachers in districts across the state of Oklahoma are walking out of their classrooms on April 2 because of the failure of the Oklahoma State Legislature to fund pay raises for teachers and support personnel, as well as increase funding for public education. Many teachers and support personnel plan to remain out of the classroom for as many days or weeks as necessary for the legislature to meet teacher demands, meaning many schools across the metro will be closed.
The following is a list of meal and childcare resources available to parents and students throughout the metro during the teacher walkout. This list will be updated frequently. Please contact organizations directly with questions and for more details.
To add your organization, please contact Erin Page at erinepage@gmail.com.
