OKCPS accepting applications for 6 middle & high schools

Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) is accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year, now through Feb. 25, 2022. Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School, Classen SAS Middle School, Classen SAS High School at Northeast, Southeast Middle School and Southeast High School are seeking student applicants who have an interest in the fine arts, leadership or STEM or have demonstrated academic excellence.

”We are thrilled to be reviewing and accepting applications for these five challenging and robust schools for the 2022-2023 school year,” said Dr. Sean McDaniel, OKCPS Superintendent. ”Application schools provide families and students with diverse educational opportunities other than their assigned neighborhood schools. These schools are the perfect fit for students who are willing to commit the time and effort necessary to meet their rigorous requirements which will prepare them for college and other post-secondary education.”

Admission to application schools is a competitive process and requirements vary slightly from one school to another. Criteria for selection may include a combination of grades, attendance, auditions, student achievement tests or teacher/administrator recommendations.

Families interested in having their student attend one of these schools for the 2022-2023 school year need to fill out and send an application by Feb. 25, 2022. OKCPS will host an English and Spanish Facebook Live on Jan. 18, 2022, at 6 pm with principals from all five application schools to answer questions regarding the academic experience at their schools, admission requirements and process to apply. Families can also visit okcps.org/applicationschools to find additional information about application schools and fill out online forms.
