National parenting expert and president of the Love and Logic Institute, Dr. Charles Fay, is set to headline Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies’ Family Leadership Summit at 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City on Sept. 21. The inaugural event assembles authors, counselors, wealth advisors, attorneys and local parents for a one-day workshop to foster family health and wealth. Topics range from marriage and parenting to identifying family core values and using finances and estate plans to support and teach those values.
“What we do is much bigger and more meaningful than simply managing investment portfolios or preparing taxes,” said Kyle Brownlee, chief executive officer of Wymer Brownlee Wealth Strategies. “The great benefit of growing financial assets is having more resources to build a life of passion and purpose, and the Family Leadership Summit will provide practical tools to help families do just that.”
Dr. Fay’s presentation will focus on minimizing unwinnable arguments and power struggles with children, setting limits without anger, lectures or threats and teaching responsibility when the price tag is small. Dr. Fay is an author, consultant and public speaker, and his father, Jim, developed the internationally recognized Love and Logic approach around him as he grew. Nearly three decades after Parenting With Love and Logic was first published, its strategies remain widely used in households, classrooms, nonprofits and healthcare facilities across the country.
“I think that’s why I became a psychologist – just to figure out what my parents were doing to me as a kid,” joked Fay. “I absolutely adore my mom and dad as a result.”
