MetroFamily’s Editor to be Honored at the 55th Annual Ladies in the News Event

Reading Time: 2 minutesย

This Spring, MetroFamilyโ€™s own Managing Editor, Erin Page will be honored, along with 13 other honorees, for generous contributions to their professions and to their communities at the Oklahoma City Hospitality Clubโ€™s annual signature fundraising event, Ladies in the News. This yearโ€™s theme is “Women Who Lead.” For over 50 years, OHC has honored Oklahoma women during this annual fundraising event. The funds raised from this event help support Oklahoma nonprofit charitable and/or service organizations. Ladies in the News is a luncheon and style show. This yearโ€™s beneficiaries are:

  • Keatonโ€™s Kindness Foundation (โ€œThe K Clubโ€):ย  Founded to spread joy and improve the lives of others through kindness, courage, compassion and caring with a special emphasis on pediatric cancer patients and their families.
  • Oklahoma Project Woman (โ€œOPWโ€):ย  OPW is a statewide comprehensive program providing no-cost mammography, diagnostic procedures and surgical services for women with no health insurance and limited financial resources. OPW is a collaborative effort linking multiple breast healthcare institutions to Oklahomans, who because of financial hardship, often delay seeking medical attention.

A proud member of the Choctaw Nation, wife and mother of three, Erin Page has received numerous national awards for her reporting on foster care, immigration, mental health, education, race equity in schools and human trafficking, as well as for the podcast she co-hosts, Raising OKC Kids. She is noted for her focus on highlighting topics like talking with kids about racism, local resources for LGBTQIA+ youth and understanding indigenous history and impact on modern society.

She is the recipient of the 2021 Clarus Award, bestowed annually on a member of the media for fairness in reporting by Public Relations Society of America, Oklahoma City. Ms. Page characterizes her mission as follows:ย  โ€œI continually seek to more fully represent all the beautiful families who call Oklahoma City home and report on the issues most impactful to them.โ€
