MetroFamily is excited to have recently been honored with four national editorial and design awards by the Parenting Media Association (PMA). PMA presented it's annual Editorial and Design Competition and General Excellence awards at a banquet on March 1, 2014, at the climax of the three-day Annual Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Editorial and Design Awards Competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by publishers, editors, writers and designers at member publications. A total of 705 entries were submitted in the competition. A panel of 26 judges with significant professional experience reviewed entries from many publications to choose the winners in each category.
In the category of publications with circulations of 25,001-44,999, MetroFamily was honored with:
- A Gold Award for General Website Excellence
- A Gold Award for contributing writer Nicole Calvert's service feature "Giving Back this Holiday Season" from November 2013
- A Silver Award for Best E-newsletter for our popular Weekend Picks
- A Bronze Award for Heather Smith Davis' "Mom Gets the Last Laugh" humor column
"We're thrilled to have been recognized by our industry as being one of the best and I'm so proud of our MetroFamily team for making it happen," said Sarah Taylor, publisher. "We strive for the best for our readers, hoping that they get the information they need each and every day, and it is gratifying to win awards that let us know that we are on the right path."
