Oklahoma's only nonprofit recovery high school recently received a top honor at the annual Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Awards. The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits hosts its annual award ceremony to recognize outstanding area nonprofits. Teen Recovery Solutions received a $7,500 gift for winning the youth services category at the award ceremony.
Teen Recovery Solutions is the only school of its kind in the entire state. The high school provides teens struggling with addiction and their families with the tools they need to recover and thrive. They've been providing long-term addiction recovery tools for Oklahoma City teens and their families since 2000. Teens who otherwise would have dropped out of school or even lost their lives to addiction gain education and hope through Teen Recovery Solutions. The nonprofit provides weekend and evening peer support programs and counseling for teens and their family members.
Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Award honorees don't apply for the awards. Instead, they are nominated and selected by a commission made up of Oklahoma residents from throughout the state representing a variety of backgrounds and interests.
