INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Hospital is proud to announce the beginning of this year’s student health care observation program, known as SHOP.
The summer program is for students older than age 15 who are interested in perhaps pursuing a career in health care. The students are allowed to choose the area in which they wish to observe. They then shadow true health care professionals in a real-life medical setting.
The program consists of two two-week sessions: session one is from June 6 to 17 and session two is from July 11 to 22. The students work four hour shifts, up to three days a week. Ten students have been chosen for each session.
Even though the program is full this summer, you can contact Karli Stroh at 405-717-7826 if you are interested in applying for future sessions. You do not have to live in the Yukon area to be considered.
