Science Museum Oklahoma and Governor Mary Fallin’s second annual “Feeding Oklahoma” food drive and fundraising effort are excited to announce their partnership set for November 7th-13th. This exciting endeavor is aimed towards encouraging Oklahoma residents statewide to work together and put an end to hunger.
“In Oklahoma, one in four children are at risk of going hungry every day,” said Mary Fallin, Governor of Oklahoma. “That’s not something we can ignore. Last year, Oklahomans proved why they are considered the most caring and giving people around by donating over 700,000 meals to the Feeding Oklahoma food drive. This year, we’re working to increase that number to a million meals. With the holidays approaching, now is a great time to give back to the community. I encourage all Oklahomans who can to participate in this year’s food drive. Working together, I know we’ll reach our goal.”
During the second week of November when patrons of Science Museum Oklahoma bring a canned good or non-perishable item to be donated to “Feeding Oklahoma,” they will receive $1.00 off General Admission. All donated items will go directly to Governor Mary Fallin’s second annual “Feeding Oklahoma” food drive and fundraising effort to help hungry Oklahomans.
“We feel this is a great opportunity for Science Museum Oklahoma to encourage Oklahomans to step forward and help provide for those in need, especially for the youngest Oklahomans,” said Melody Muniz, Guest Relations Manager. “The facts are overwhelming and no man, woman or child should have to worry about where their next meal will come from.”
