This class will introduce you to the known villas that were certainly among the hundreds that remain unexcavated. It includes the Portus Julius near Naples, now underwater, but can be explored by SCUBA divers, the newly discovered luxury villa at Positano on the Amalfi Coast, and the Boscoreale villa, discovered in the forest, which was certainly meant to be a luxurious retreat back to nature.
