Description
This presentation by Sam Noble Museum Fossil Preparator Kyle Davies explores Richards Spur, a fossil locality north of Lawton, which is unique in having the most terrestrial fossils species from the Permian time period of any known location on Earth. Owing to its special conditions, it is also known for producing many rare, small specimens and representing an uncommonly sampled upland fauna. Most fossil deposits represent lowland areas, where remains are more likely to get buried.
