Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma (GSWESTOK) has named 12 Gold Award recipients for 2025. The distinguished award recognizes girls in grades 9-12 who identify issues in their communities and take action to develop sustainable solutions. Gold Award recipients, along with Bronze and Silver Award recipients, will be recognized at Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma’s Highest Awards Ceremony at 10 a.m. on May 3, 2025, at Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City.
This year’s GSWESTOK Gold Award recipients are: Jordan Lent, Maddie Greer, Chai Solomon, Sydnee Peterson and Lee Skinner-Noble of OKC; Piper Elliott and Tayleigh Miller of Yukon; Addison Dodd and Lauren Patton of Edmond; Katherine Stockstill of Moore; Brenna Matthews of Mustang and Ella Chancey of Guthrie.
Projects tackled include a broad range of issues including brain disorder education, Alzheimer's and dementia enrichments, animal habitat refurbishment and indoor and outdoor playground and nature improvements for children with sensory issues.
