Oklahoma residents look forward to the annual Book Sale at the OKC Fairgrounds every winter, but this year, there’s even more to celebrate with the return of the Summer Book Sale August 14-15 at the Oklahoma Expo Hall at the OKC Fairgrounds. Shoppers can expect unbeatable prices with paperbacks for $1, hardcovers for $2, and children’s books at half-price, and all proceeds benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) in Oklahoma County.

The Summer Book Sale features a scaled-down version of the Friends’ winter event with gently used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and vinyl records. While the Better Books room will not be included, the general sale selection is packed with finds for readers of all ages and interests.

The sale opens with a Members-Only Preview on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. The sale is open to the public Friday and Saturday (Aug. 14-15) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free parking and air-conditioned shopping at the OKC Fairgrounds (3213 Wichita Walk).
