Description

Gaye Sanders, author of the award-winning children's book, The Survivor Tree, will read her story about the American Elm tree that became a symbol of hope and strength after it survived the bombing on April 19, 1995. Today, the Survivor Tree sits atop the Oklahoma City National Memorial to inspire all who come to remember.

A National Park Service Ranger will also read Love Won: The Oklahoma Standard, by former governor and first lady, Cathy and Frank Keating. This story about the loving response by the community and the messages of sympathy, encouragement and hope from all over the world after the OKC bombing is a reminder that good can come from even the worst tragedies. Gaye Sanders will sign copies of her book following the reading and copies of Cathy and Frank Keating's book are available in the Memorial store.
