Description
Ancient Pompeiians consumed food and wines that are still enjoyed in Southern Italy today. This class will take you on a virtual tour of the food and wine from Naples to the Amalfi and Cilento Coasts. You will learn about garum, a fish sauce that was the favorite condiment of the Romans, mozzarella made from the milk of buffalos brought to Italy from the farthest corners of the Roman Empire, and San Marzano tomatoes that grow in the mineral-rich soil of Mount Vesuvius.
This class will be held virtually via Zoom.
*Optional food and wine boxes are available for shipping.
