Description

An internationally acclaimed composer and citizen of the Chickasaw Nation will be accompanied by a violinist at a Community Early Literacy Event at 9 a.m., Dec. 8 at Rainbow Fleet, 1105 NW 45th St. in Oklahoma City. The event is open to the public.

Hear a spoken folktale from Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, an Oklahoma superstar who is also a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. Tate is a dedicated American Indian classical composer and pianist who expresses his native culture in symphonic music, ballet and opera. Find more information about Tate at http://jerodtate.com.

Children are encouraged to create their own “shell shakers'' prior to attending. The shell shakers, which can be made by filling water bottles with beads or other reused or recyclable materials, will serve as an interactive component of the event.

All guests over age 2 are asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing during the indoor event.
