The Thunder’s Rumble the Bison will be at the museum for the community opening of The Bison Exhibit. 

Hear Rumble’s unique story, make an illustration of events in your life, discover what is made from a bison and learn about the great American mammal’s the remarkable powers. Then, visit the new exhibition and celebrate with bison-themed sweets, courtesy of Platt College Culinary Arts.

Ancient. Massive. Wild. explores the meaning and significance of this iconic creature from the Plains Indian culture of the 1800s through the commercial and national symbol of the present. It charts the dramatic changes that occurred to the creature and its habitat, and to the people who depended upon it for their daily existence. The traveling exhibition will be augmented by the Museum’s permanent collection, which offers a rich display of paintings, photographs and sculpture depicting bison, as well as an interactive gallery for visitors of all ages.
