Guided tours are offered at Oklahoma's only prehistoric Native American archaeological site open to the public.
Each tour is one mile of easy walking and about two hours in duration. Archaeologist Dennis Peterson discusses the powerful Caddoans who created the mounds between 900-1450 A.D., how they became a very important leadership group and why some of the 12 mounds line up to solstice and equinox sunsets.
Tours are held at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.
