The site will celebrate its 44th year of increasing awareness of Oklahoma archaeology on this free public day with no entrance fees, although donations are gratefully accepted. All day during the celebration birthday cake will be served. Along with the cake will be demonstrations of flintknapping (stone tool making), lectures and Native American games when requested. There also will be a history discussion of the Spiro Mounds site at 2 p.m. by manager/archaeologist Dennis Peterson.
