Drawn Together

This week I want to share an event that I hope you’ve heard about—and maybe even gotten tickets for already!  Exactly four months ago today, Moore was hit by an EF5 tornado and we’ve all seen the horrible aftermath of the storm.  Even though life is slowly getting back to normal, there are still terrible scars, both physical and emotional.  Next Saturday, September 28, you have the awesome opportunity to help raise money for tornado relief and meet some famous authors at the same time!

Drawn Together is a benefit dreamed up by “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” author Jeff Kinney to benefit the Moore Public Schools libraries.  Authors/cartoonists Dav Pilkey (“Captain Underpants”), Lincoln Peirce (“Big Nate”), and Stephan Pastis (“Timmy Failure”) all agreed to join him in his fundraising efforts.  For just $10 per person, you can hear all of the authors speak and participate in a question and answer session.  Autographed books, shirts, and posters will also be available to purchase.  If you’re feeling lucky, raffle tickets will also be sold for the chance to win other memorabilia.  All funds raised will benefit the libraries as they work to rebuild.

Drawn Together will take place next Saturday, September 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.  (Just click here to find the link to order your tickets!)  If you already have plans for Saturday, there will also be a Drawn Together event in Tulsa on Friday, September 27 at 7:00 at the Cox Business Center.

My son is so excited!  If you have any young readers in your life, this is such a great chance to see all four authors together and help out a wonderful cause at the same time!
