Reading Time: 1 minute

Are your kids getting excited about Christmas? Here's an easy way to turn their anticipation into a fun craft.

Supplies:

  • construction paper
  • glue
  • pen

Directions:

  • Take construction paper and cut it into strips.
  • Then on one side write "25 Days Until Christmas" and continue until you get to Christmas Day.
  • On the other side write an activity or a question you would like to ask each member of the family to do/think about on that day.
  • Glue the paper link together to make a circle.
  • Take the next paper and loop it through, continuing until all loops are connected.

Here are some ideas on activities and questions:

  • What's your favorite Christmas song?
  • Favorite Christmas memory?
  • Favorite holiday food?
  • Favorite winter activity?
  • Make hot cocoa or apple cider and make cinnamon toast.
  • Color holiday pictures
  • Make a Christmas card for grandparents or other relative
  • Sing Christmas songs
  • Read a Christmas story
  • Watch a Christmas Movie
  • Make a Christmas present for someone .
  • Make wrapping paper – Use white paper and draw pictures or use old birthday wrapping paper and turn it over and decorate it.
  • Make cookies
  • See Christmas lights
  • What do you think Santa eats besides cookies?
  • What does Santa do the rest of the year?
  • Call someone and sing a Christmas carol
  • What's the one thing that you really want for Christmas?
  • Tell someone something you love about them.
  • Find a way to give to someone less fortunate this Christmas. – There are a ton of ways to give, see our Guide to Giving Back to get started.
  • Talk about the reason we celebrate Christmas and what it means to each member of your family.

Happy counting!
