Summer may be in full force but Oklahoma parents with school-aged children can start now on back-to-school tasks to expedite enrollment and health requirements with the help of a handy, downloadable, back-to-school checklist, created by the Oklahoma Department of Health to help with this process.
These to-do’s include:
- Ordering your child’s birth certificate for enrollment in school.
- Gathering your child’s shot records.
- Reviewing and, if needed, updating your child’s immunizations.
- Scheduling a well-child exam.
The guide provides websites, phone numbers, tips and details that make the tasks easier, and it’s available in both English and Spanish.
“We highly suggest printing the downloadable back-to-school checklist available at BackToSchoolOK.com,” said Erica Rankin-Riley, public information officer for OSDH. “For parents and caregivers who like to have a physical reminder of their to-do lists, this will be a huge help. It’s never too early to start preparing for back to school. The earlier parents and caregivers can prepare, the less stress will be on them and their kids going into the school year.”
