Arise Ministries Schedules 12th Annual Single Mothers' Conference

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Attention single moms! Mark your calendars for a special celebration hosted in Oklahoma City just for you. The 12th Annual Survive 'N' Thrive Single Mothers’ Conference hosted by Arise Ministries is scheduled for June 24 & 25 at Crossings Community Church (14600 N. Portland Ave.).

This year, featured keynote speakers are Antoinette Tuff and Pam Kanaly.

Tuff is a single mom with an incredible story of courage. She came face-to-face with a gunman in 2013 while working as a school bookkeeper. The shooter was carrying more than 500 rounds of ammunition, but Tuff used her bravery and instincts to talk the gunman into surrendering without injuring a single person.

Kanaly was named 2015 Edmond Woman of the Year and National Mother of Achievement. She co-founded Arise Ministries in 2002, is a national speaker, and former radio and television talk show co-host. She brings insight to the journey of single motherhood and inspires empowerment to others.

The Survive ‘N’ Thrive conference is for any single mom, any woman who feels like a single mom or wants to be there in support of a single mom. Attendees range from divorced, never married, widowed, separated, grandmothers raising grandchildren, wives whose husbands serve in the military and others. The event offers education and fellowship with other local women.

Attendees will enjoy a wide range of breakout session topics, including self-defense techniques, learning about finances, effective parenting skills, protecting children in cyberspace and more.

Register by April 30 to attend for $25. Admission after that date is $30. Childcare is available for $5 per family, for birth through 12 years old. Childcare is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration includes conference materials, Friday desserts and Saturday luncheon.
