Description

Take a break from the noise and spend an afternoon on a quiet farm in north Edmond, featuring open land, good animals, and space to breathe. This class is designed especially for active military members or veterans who want a relaxed, creative experience with no pressure and plenty of fresh air.

According to Hustis, “We’ll paint a bold, 250th‑Birthday remembrance Eagle, inspired by Andy Warhol, with bright colors, strong lines, and a nod to American resilience. You can also sketch the land, the horses, the goats, or the ever‑present farm dogs who love to supervise. Whether you’re brand‑new to drawing or returning to an old skill, you’ll learn simple techniques while enjoying the calm of the farm. Expect easy conversation, low stress, and a chance to reconnect with nature and creativity.”

Participants are asked to wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the farm and weather, walking and painting. Bring a drink, a snack if needed, and maybe a folding chair. Directions to the class will be provided to enrollees. Enrollment is free to veterans or active military members with their immediate family or caregivers. Although this class is at no cost, it is valued at $185.00 per person. If you are unable to come, please notify museum staff so that someone else can fill the spot.
