In a time when much of the discussion about education in Oklahoma City and across the state is negative, MetroFamily is shifting the conversation.
Our new series, What’s Right with Our Schools, highlights the innovative programs, creative solutions and inspiring educators working tirelessly to improve public education in our state. This series acknowledges the challenges our public education system is facing and the need for powerful change. But in the face of those challenges, our educators are stepping up to make a difference every day in the lives of students.
From unique methods of improving literacy through STEAM to addressing the barriers impacting absenteeism, local public schools are proving that positive change is happening.
This series seeks to inspire hope among parents, encourage business and community leaders to support public schools through funding and volunteerism, and remind teachers how much their efforts are valued. Each installment will explore a different theme, showcasing how educators, administrators and communities are coming together to create meaningful opportunities for students.
