I think it’s safe to say if you haven’t already been, you know at least a dozen people who’ve eaten at the Hall’s Pizza Kitchen. Based on the wait, it is THE PLACE to be on Friday and Saturday nights in OKC. We’ve been there a few times and it’s one of our favorite local pizza places. The lovely Molly Hall was my son’s Latin teacher for two years, so we started eating at the pizza truck even when we had to make the drive from Norman because it was so cool to see her and support her family. Thankfully, OKC agrees that the Hall’s have something amazing and special going on and the location in Midtown is a beautiful and delicious experience. 

We’re a big family, so it takes more than one pizza to feed us all. They come with six big slices, but one is never enough because every element of the pizza is delicious. The first time we went to the restaurant, we built our own pie ($20, and no limit on toppings!) which my husband and I split with our oldest, who loves filling out the card to create our own pizza. We experiment with the sauces and always add fresh basil and a sprinkling of smoked salt. My middle kids shared the gluten-free pizza ($10). We don’t have any food allergies, but our server explained that it’s a smaller size and doesn’t compromise on flavor at all. On our second visit, we went with two big pies and were given free flat bread because the wait was a little long on our second pizza. There’s also the option of adding pizza by the slice. (But when you order a whole pizza and use your Keep it Local card, you get a free cookie!)

So far, we’ve only been at dinner time, mainly because my husband only has about 30 minutes for lunch and he doesn’t want us going without him. Our first trip was on a Monday night and we didn’t have to wait long, but every other time it’s been about a 30-45 minute wait. There was even an occasion where it was just my oldest and I (kid date!) and we had to change our plans because we didn’t have time to wait. I believe they now take reservations, so I strongly suggest calling ahead, especially if you’ve got your kiddos. Waiting for them to freshly prepare your pizza and cook it in their wood-fired oven is hard enough! We’ve also never experienced the rooftop but certainly look forward to it in the fall. 

Hall’s Pizza Kitchen falls toward the higher limit of what we like to spend when we eat out, so it’s more of a treat than a regular choice, but it’s always worth it for the flavor, the atmosphere and the service.
