The J. D. McCarty Center is a pediatric rehab hospital specializing in children with developmental disabilities from birth to age 21. They provide inpatient and outpatient services in the physical, occupational, speech and language therapy that these kids need to reach their highest level of function and independence. When the hospital was first established, they only treated one diagnosis—cerebral palsy. Today, they have seen more than 100 different diagnoses in the developmental disability category. Kids with CP continue to be seen at the hospital, but other kids may be on the Autism spectrum, have Down Syndrome or have another diagnosis. J. D. McCarty has been in operation since 1946 and is the only hospital like it in Oklahoma. Call and ask to speak to a social worker for more information about a free therapeutic screening.
