Paycom Software, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based human capital management software, donated $50,000 to the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation as part of a two-year commitment to the local school district. The funding will support STEM programs and the Communities and Schools Together (CAST) initiative, which connects schools with essential educational, social, emotional and urgent resources through community engagement and mentorship.

“Paycom’s support of mentorship and STEM education demonstrates our commitment to empowering the next generation of thinkers and innovators,” said Rachael Gannon, executive vice president of product at Paycom and a Putnam North High School graduate. “Our investment in local schools is a direct investment into the future of the tech industry, generating a pipeline of bright, future leaders.”

Paycom also contributed $50,000 to support Putnam City School’s CAST mentorship program in 2023 — one of the biggest student needs at the time. Part of this year’s donation will support STEM curriculum, allowing classrooms to request funding for unique STEM projects like robotics, coding, the Space Farmers Club and more.

“STEM education lays the foundation for students to problem-solve by fostering creativity and curiosity,” said Linda Frantz, STEM teacher at Northridge Elementary. “Introducing young students to basic science, technology, engineering and math through engaging hands-on activities helps to prepare them for career opportunities in high-demand STEM fields.”

Putnam City Schools Foundation aims to support students, staff and faculty by providing items and programs not typically available from district funding. Putnam City Schools is one of the state’s largest school districts, comprising 27 buildings with 19,500 children. Its boundaries cross three municipalities over 42 square miles of Northwest Oklahoma City.

“We want to ensure every student has access to the resources needed to succeed, but we can’t do it alone,” said DiAnne Bryant, co-interim director of Putnam City Schools Foundation. “Support from community partners allows us to enrich and enhance educational opportunities, and we’re grateful for Paycom’s continuous support of our students, families and teachers.”

Paycom is committed to supporting STEM education initiatives that foster a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, driving innovation and workforce development in the tech industry.
