3 Hacks for Tackling Food Halls with Kids

With so many new dining options in Oklahoma City, it’s hard to find something that will please everyone. Enter food halls. Think cafeteria, but with homestyle and exotic options that are sure to fit the culinary agenda of everyone in your party, even the littlest ones.

If you’re looking for somewhere to dine with your family this weekend, swing by Parlor OKC, located on 6th Street in Automobile Alley. With seven food vendors, inviting outdoor areas and specialty drinks for the adults, it is perfect for a family date. Make the most of your food hall experience with these three hacks:

  1. Grab a booth. All seating at Parlor OKC is open, but there is plenty to choose from. When you first enter, walk past the stairs and to the right for the best selection of family booths. There are several tucked away near the windows, a great option for families. Kids can roam without being in the main line of traffic, and adults can relax – a win-win!
  2. Divide and conquer. Providence Pizza from Kansas City seemed to be the family favorite among guests at Parlor OKC. Happy kids and more than a few happy adults gobbled deep-dish, crispy-yet-soft “Detroit style” pizza squares. Other family favorites are located up the stairs.
  3. Run out the energy. Parlor OKC has multiple family-friendly outdoor areas, including a floor-level patio connected to a game area with a boche ball court and a rooftop patio. Let the kids roam around the game area while the grown-ups enjoy rotating cocktails.
