Five Family-Friendly Breweries Worth Visiting in 2023

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Since 2018, breweries in Oklahoma have been popping up left and right, many of which might be in your own backyard. While Oklahoma may have more than 70 breweries across the state, seeking out breweries where your kids are entertained may feel daunting.  Here’s a list of a few breweries that have created spaces and have events perfect for families.

  1. The Big Friendly, OKC
If you haven’t already taken your family to the Wheeler District, this is your sign to go. Not only can you see a great skyline atop the Wheeler Ferris Wheel, but just steps away is a national award-winning brewery – The Big Friendly. What started as a beer bus now is a beautiful taproom with great indoor and outdoor seating. Between The Big Friendly and Taco Nation is a great playground for the kiddos, so you can sip while they play.
  2. Beavers Bend Brewery, Broken Bow
Visitors have really taken to Broken Bow the past few years, so if you find yourself spending family time down south, a visit to Beavers Bend Brewery is a must. Their outdoor space is perfect for the kids while you sit outside on the patio, enjoying the beer, food and views. From cornhole to games and even climbing up the tower to see the sights of Broken Bow, the kids will have plenty to do. Their on-site food truck, The Wienery, offers gourmet hot dogs and you can find kid-friendly drinks inside, including Capri Sun and soda.
  3. Nothing’s Left, Tulsa
The great thing about Nothing’s Left is that they’ve created a space that they knew families would want to come to and they also made products that aren’t just for those who love (or are of age) to drink alcohol. Nothing’s Left slushies come with alcohol and without along with their ice cream and non-alcoholic products. If you like beer merch, they offer tiny shirts for your kiddos as well. They also offer a variety of events perfect for families throughout the year (watch their Instagram for all that’s scheduled).
  4. Vanessa House Beer Co., OKC
Once you step inside Vanessa House Beer Co, you catch the vibe of your childhood. There are walls decked out in superheroes, TVs ready to play your favorite video games and an occasional appearance of Rock Band in the taproom. Let the kids have some fun and take them to Vanessa House – it’s a win for everyone!
  5. Nook Brew Co., Broken Arrow
Nook Brewing is a family run brewery and fairly new to the Oklahoma craft beer landscape having opened at the end of 2020. When building out their brewery, they always had family in mind. They have an entire room dedicated to kids with a bar that overlooks a giant room full of everything from coloring books, rocking chairs, Barbie’s, a playhouse and more. Nook Brew Co. also offers a large array of snacks and drinks for your kids, so you can keep them happy while you try a pint.
