Face of Photography: Foto Arts Photography

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Bridget Pipkin fell in love with photography during high school, when a trip to the zoo sparked a fascination with the ability to capture moments in time. That spark grew into a lifelong passion — one that led her to earn a fine arts degree and launch Foto Arts Photography in 2005. Her portfolio includes family and children sessions, weddings, bridal portraits, events, senior photos, and landscapes.

At the heart of her work is a love for photographing families, especially children and graduating seniors.

“As I continued to pursue my photography career, I found children to be unapologetically themselves,” she says. “They bring light and personality into any situation.” Kids, she notes, are free, joyful and fully present.

Pipkin’s ease with young subjects comes naturally. After 25 years coaching gymnastics, she knows how to help families and children feel calm and comfortable in front of the camera.

Her goal with every session goes beyond a good shot. “I want people to feel seen after every photoshoot and experience joy when they see my photos,” she says. “I really love to try new ideas, colors and backdrops.” It’s that creative freedom, grounded in her love, faith and personal expression, that gives meaning to her work.

Pipkin has partnered with Metro Family Magazine for eight years, providing the magazine with its vibrant covers and photos for many of its highlight stories.
