Enjoy Festive Fun at the Sandridge Tree Lighting Festival

If you are looking for a fun, festive and FREE way to get into the holiday spirit this season, look no further than the SandRidge Tree Lighting Festival. I lived in Oklahoma for 4 years before making it down to Bricktown during the holiday season and I honestly cannot say why it took me so long! Downtown OKC in December is absolutely gorgeous with twinkling holiday lights and tons of fabulous (and often FREE!) holiday events. This particular event provides live music by local band Banana Seat, Harkins’ popcorn, Nonna’s cookies and hot cocoa as well as face painting and FREE professional photos with Santa!

The lines for snacks and photos with Santa can get long, so be sure to get there early so you can get your goodies in time to be at the tree for the big lighting.  After the lights are lit, you can enjoy a stroll along the Bricktown Canal while taking in the OneMain Financial’s Bricktown Canal Lights display.

What to Do:

November 23

  • FREE SandRidge Tree Lighting Festival at the corner of Reno and Mickey Mantle in Bricktown features live music, snacks, photos with Santa and more. 6-8pm. www.downtownindecember.com.
