The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics is partnering with the City of Edmond to safely dispose of prescription drugs. “Prescription drugs are the most abused drug in Edmond,” said Glynda Chu, spokeswoman for the Edmond Police Department. Local citizens now have a safe place to drop off prescription drugs they no longer need or want in their medicine cabinet.
Citizens can bring the drugs to the Edmond Police Department and drop the medicine into a permanent drop box. The drop box looks like a white mail box and it is located in the lobby of the Police Department.
Citizens are not allowed to drop off syringes, liquids, chemicals or inhalers, but all other prescription medicines can be dropped in the box.
