Celery Flowers for Mother's Day

May 8, 2012 - 11:53 PM
Celery Flowers for Mother's Day

Here’s a pretty activity for Mother’s Day—a nice way to say “I love you” by using your vegetables to make a creative picture.

Materials:

  • Celery
  • Paint
  • Paper
  • Markers or crayons

Instructions:

  • Take a bunch of celery and cut off the bulkiest part of the stems in order to make the flowers full.
  • Take your celery and dip it into paint.
  • Hold celery stalks together and press them on to paper to make a flower-like print.
  • Allow the prints to dry, then add stems, leaves and other decorations.

Have your child write a message for mom or grandma and you just created a fun, one-of-a-kind gift!
