As a media company serving families throughout the OKC area, we strive to provide parents with the best support and family fun events and places through multiple formats including print, digital, e-newsletters, social media and events. Our team loves serving our audience and supporting each other. We are looking to add to our sales team and we truly hire for the right person, so this description has some flexibility.
We’re looking for either an account manager who can serve as the fulfillment operations coordinator for our advertising clients or a sales person who wants their own book of accounts. In other words, there is an opportunity to be strictly ad sales or strictly account management or a blend of the two based on interest and experience. The Account Manager reports to the magazine publisher, Sarah Taylor.
Responsibilities:
Duties depend on what initial direction the new hire takes, whether a strict sales position or an administrative position or a combination of the two.
If administrative, work with the other account execs to coordinate the fulfillment of the contracts, including but not limited to getting creative in and finalized; digital ads booked for the right days/times, etc; trouble-shooting with clients; customer service duties, etc. If the direction is more in sales, then there would be working with warm and cold leads to develop with them a plan that fits their needs and all the fulfillment duties required to fulfill the ad buy.
Requirements:
- Passion for serving families in the OKC metro
- At least 5 years of experience in advertising, advertising sales and/or marketing strategy preferred
- Experience with a variety of software programs
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while being detail-oriented and organized
- Calm under pressure for trouble-shooting and addressing problems that may arise
- Able to take charge and ownership of all aspects of each ad sale
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate well and work closely with a team
This position is structured to be part-time (25-28 hours a week) and will either be an hourly wage or commission or a combination of both. All staff workers for MetroFamily work remotely with the exception of monthly in-person meetings or other needs of the organization.
