Holiday Round Up
The best part of the holiday season? For me, it's the small stuff. Like hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and holiday decorations with lots of my favorite color, red. Here's a list of more things I'm "holidelighted" about this year:
1. Facebook. I'm calling it my first virtual Christmas. I get to see what my new and old friends (going all the way back to elementary school) are doing this holiday season.
2. The JOY PROJECT. I'm practicing gratitude and spreading joy through a four-week life coach series on my web site at www.malenalott.com. New blog post each Monday and new video post each Thursday.
3. Scarves. Now that I finally learned two cute scarf techniques, I wear them every time I need to go out. They dress up even the dullest outfit. (See one of my favorites in last week's JOY video.)
4. Sales! Oklahoma isn't suffering from the recession quite as badly as other parts of the country. Stores have been busy and sales have been tremendous, so I'm thankful I've saved loads on gifts this year, though I did focus on more practical gifts than wants this year. My purchase for self? A Shark steam cleaner for my hardwood floors. Saved $25 at Kohls. (Guys, don't get your wife one unless they ask for it. You'll be sent to the doghouse as seen in the cute JC Penny online video.)
5. Holiday music & movies! Love Actually and the Holiday are two of my favorites. As for Christmas music, Michael Buble's holiday album is a MUST. Listening to Christmas music makes everything a bit cheerier. Even laundry and dishes.
