Oklahoma City is alive with fun, family entertainment around every corner and we've hand-picked the top 10 FREE events happening across the metro this month.  Its easy to have fun all month long at any one of these family fun events. The best part is that all these fun things to do are completely FREE!

Here are our picks of the top 10 FREE things to do this May:

May 5

FREE Cinco de Mayo en Calle Dos Cinco Celebration in the Historic Capitol Hill District (SW 25th St. between Harvey and Robinson) is a family friendly street festival featuring live entertainment, food trucks, a salsa picante contest, a traditional Mexican dress show and more. 5 – 8 p.m.

May 5 – 7

FREE Arts Festival in Downtown Edmond (30 W 1st St, Edmond) features more than 120 artist booths filled with paintings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and more as well as food vendors, live music and children's activities including face painting, interactive games, ambulance tours, inflatables and a free children’s art tent. Saturday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

May 6

FREE Annual Edmond Family Bike Ride at Mitch Park (1501 W Covell Rd, Edmond) features a safety talk and family bike ride around the park's outer trail, followed by healthy refreshments and fun activities. 9 a.m. – noon.

FREE The Village Fair at Casady Square (Britton & Penn Ave) features arts, crafts, food, entertainment, touch-a-truck, activities for children and family-friendly vendors offering their goods and services. Free to attend, participation prices vary. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

May 6 – 7

FREE May Fair Arts Festival at Andrews Park (201 W Daws St, Norman) is a two-day, outdoor art show featuring artists and quality craftsmen, top area performers, artists demonstrations, children's art activities, a student art show, food and more. Saturday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

May 12

FREE Be Smart- Don’t Start Anti-Tobacco Day at Science Museum Oklahoma (2020 Remington Pl) features hands-on educational activities, trivia and prizes, teaching school-aged kids the dangers of tobacco use. Visitors will receive free admission, courtesy of BCBSOK. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

FREE Movie Night @ the Park at Mitch Park (1501 W Covell Rd, Edmond) features an outdoor screening of Secret Life of Pets. City of Edmond Animal Welfare will bring some furry friends. Concessions available for purchase. Movie begins at dusk. 7 p.m.

May 20

FREE OutdoorFest at Will Rogers Amphitheater (3400 NW 36th St) features over 20 organizations sharing information about how to enjoy the outdoors as well as live music, food trucks, face painting, crafts and family activities. Benefits Friends of Martin Park Nature Center. 5 – 9 p.m.

May 20 – 21

FREE Star Spangled Salute Air Show at Tinker Air Force Base (3001 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest City) features the USAF Thunderbirds in addition to an array of other flying acts, static displays and live entertainment. Saturday & Sunday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; flying acts, 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

May 29

FREE Memorial Day Celebration at the 45th Infantry Division Museum (2145 NE 36th St) features a helicopter flyover, massing of the colors, patriotic music and distinguished guest speakers, paying to the men and women who have served in our Nations Armed Forces. 10 a.m.
