Oklahoma City is alive with fun, family entertainment around every corner and we’ve hand-picked the top 10 FREE events happening across the metro this month.  It’s easy to have fun all month long at any one of these family fun events. The best part is that all these fun things to do are completely FREE!

Here are our picks of the top 10 FREE things to do this month:


March 7

FREE Kid’s Trout Fish Out at Dale Robertson Center Pond (1200 Lakeshore Dr, Yukon) features a fishing derby for young anglers with door prizes, raffles and other fishing related activities. Prizes awarded for each contest category. 8 – 11 a.m.

FREE Severe Weather Awareness Expo at Penn Square Mall (1901 NW Expressway) features an array of vendors and special appearances including anchors and meteorologists from KFOR News 4, KOCO News 5, and KWTV News 9. Science Museum Oklahoma will provide activities for families with children to enjoy, as well as a photo booth and prize giveaways. Additionally, news station helicopters and first response vehicles will be available for tours and photos in the South Parking Lot. Noon – 4 p.m.

March 14

FREE O’City St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Oklahoma City (various locations) features decorated floats, animals, antique tractors, civic clubs, clowns, motorcycles and more. 11 a.m.

FREE Community Art Day at Mabee-Gerrer Museum Of Art (1900 W. MacArthur St, Shawnee). Families can work together to create their own relief print and explore the educational collection accompanying the Bandits & Heroes, Poets & Saints: Popular Art of the Northeast of Brazil exhibition. 1 – 3 p.m.

March 15

FREE SONIC Drive-In Family Day at Oklahoma City Museum of Art (415 Couch Dr) features free museum admission, art activities, gallery experiences, kid-friendly films and more. Noon – 5 p.m.

March 16 – 21

FREE Spring Thing! at Oklahoma Hall of Fame (1400 Classen Dr) features story time, interactive crafts and more. Museum admission is free. 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

FREE Spring Break Activities at Scissortail Park (415 S Robinson Ave) features a variety of activities for families of all ages to enjoy including the Rolling Thunder Bus, chalk art, hula hooping and more. 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

March 21

FREE Oklahoma Farm-to-Table Family Festival at the Oklahoma History Center (800 Nazih Zuhdi Dr) features hands-on activities to showcase the rich agricultural heritage of America from colonial times to modern-day innovations. All ages welcome. 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Daffodil Dash 1K at Scissortail Park (415 S Robinson Ave) features a themed walk celebrating the blooming of 40,000 new daffodils in the Park. Activities include a costume contest, sack races, pinwheel decorating, hat decorating, flower sales, face painters, flower balloon artists, lawn games, music, food trucks and more. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

March 28

FREE Spotlight Saturday: Renegades at Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art (555 Elm Ave, Norman) features a collaborative building challenge, design-your-own organic structure activity, a scavenger hunt and light refreshments. All ages welcome. 1 – 3 p.m.
