As the partial government shutdown lingers on, local businesses and organizations are reaching out to help families impacted. Here are some venues offering free admission and other discounts in the OKC metro:

Big Truck Tacos & Back Door Barbecue

Until the government reopens, Big Truck Tacos and Back Door Barbecue will offer all federal employees 25% off their purchases.

Breakaway Indoor Playground

Through Jan. 26, Breakaway is offering free admission for all unpaid government employees. A valid government ID and furlough paperwork must be presented.

National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is offering free Museum admission for all federal employees and up to four family members for the duration of the current federal government shutdown.  Any federal employee — whether furloughed or not — can enjoy all the Museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions for free, simply by showing a valid federal employment I.D. Children ages 5 and under are always free.

Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Beginning Jan. 16, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art will offer free admission to Federal employees impacted by the partial government shutdown. Federal employees must show a valid, government issued I.D. at the Museum’s admission desk to take advantage of the offer.

Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum

The museum is offering free admission to all federal employees throughout the shutdown, regardless of whether they have been furloughed or are otherwise affected. For free admission, federal workers should show their ID at the admissions desk.

Oklahoma City Zoo

Through Jan. 26-27, the Oklahoma City Zoo welcomes federal employees and their families to explore the Zoo for free during the federal government shutdown. Federal employees–whether furloughed or not– simply need to present a valid federal employment I.D. to the admission attendants for free entry into the Zoo.

Okie Kids Playground

Furloughed employees can receive half off open play admission at Okie Kids Playground. Bring your badge and furloughed form to receive the discount.
