Treat Yourself to a Smooth Bublé

I’ve got a mad crush on Michael Bublé. With Sinatra-esque stylings and the charisma of Elvis, Bublé is the rare throwback entertainer who manages to make everything old new again. The fact that he sings about love is just the icing on the cake. This coming from a mod mama who prefers listening to rap music over golden oldies whilst cleaning the toilies. True story. But that was before Oprah introduced me to MB.

Okay, okay, via the tube when he guested on her show a couple of years ago, but still, she gets cred for the intro. He was also on American Idol last year and ever time I see him I think—wow this guy is effortless. And then I swoon.

So when I found out MB would be performing at the Ford Center I told my darling hubby we just had to go. So I got MB for Valentine’s Day. Tickets, I mean. The concert was last Tuesday and all I can say is, he’s even better in person. He’s funny, sexy, genuine and extremely entertaining. Life on the skits? Bored sitting there in the pick up line at school? Add some Bublé to your day, and I promise you’ll feel a little lighter, a little sunshinier.

My favorite tunes include: “Me & Mrs. Jones,” “I’m Your Man,” and “I’ve Got The World On A String,” from his latest album Call Me Irresponsible. Yet his previous albums Come Fly With Me and It’s Time offer both treasured classics like “Fever,” and his number one hit “Home,” will satisfy your every musical cravings, whether sultry or sweet. He’s great at parties, too – and I do mean, singing through your speaker system, so add a little pizzazz to your next get together with MB crooning for your guests.

Listen today at michaelbuble.com/musicstore, which contains links to iTunes and also has concert listings if you’ll be traveling in the U.S. between now and June.

Thanks for being a part of my MB fix for the day. Onto other PC (pop culture) news, if you like Steve Carell in The Office and have wondered what he might be like as a movie star beyond his 40 year-old virgin schtick, give “Dan in Real Life” a rent. He’s a heart-warming dad of three girls and widower who falls in love with his brother’s new girlfriend at a family reunion. He’s the new Tom Hanks of the 00’s— able to pull off a rom com as well as slap stick.

Since we seem to be on the topic of love today, check out local romance authors on okrwa.com. The romance genre is represented locally in nearly every sub-genre including contemporary, historical, young adult, paranormal and suspense/thrillers. Many people don’t know that a lot of best-selling authors shop alongside you at Target. Women like Gena Showalter, Sharon Sala, PC Cast and new authors such as Rachel Vincent and Jordan Dane and many more are active in the local chapter and I’m sure would love for you to give them a read. I can vouch they are great both in paper and in person.

I am so surprised that no one has chimed in on this. I too was at that concert and it was beyond fabulous! I still have a smile on my face. Thanks for helping me re-live it. I'm going to break out his DVD now :)
