My exercise routine

I am so lucky to have Chris as my personal trainer. He is so supportive of me and my overall health. While playing with the kids, I recently injured my knee and thought I would not be able to complete my workout routine. I was still able to work out in spite of my injury, and the situation made me realize that whether you weigh 350 pounds or 515 pounds, no one has an excuse NOT to workout, it can still be done. You just have to start!

The normal workout for me begins with the treadmill. With my knee injury, I was unable to walk on the treadmill without pain, so I used the bike instead. I was limited on leg exercises but was still able to do upper body exercises.

For the first time in my life I sat on an exercise ball. I warned Chris that the ball may not hold me and that he would have to pick “all” of me up. When Chris’s face was no longer red from embarrassment and laughter he assured me the ball would hold me…and it did.

I do a host of different exercises that work target areas, legs, upper body, arms, abs. The most intense workout for me is the full body workout, which is done on Fridays. I am totally exhausted when we are finished.

In my exercise routine, I include walking on the days I do not work out at the gym. I have started parking farther away in parking lots of stores to get more exercise, and taking stairs instead of the elevator. I can really see and feel the difference in my body.

I am so glad to take my life in a new direction.
