All about Kids Fest 2019

What is Kids Fest?

Kids Fest is best described as a fun expo for parents and children, one where everyone has fun activities to enjoy and parents find out about a variety of family services. It’s hosted by MetroFamily Magazine and sponsored by community partners. Tickets are available here!

Buy your tickets in advance to be eligible for door prizes and to get $5 off a Teddy Bear Mobile stuffed animal!

This year, Kids Fest is on Saturday, April 6 at the Cox Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with last entry for the public at 2:30 p.m.

What ages like Kids Fest the most?
All ages love Kids Fest! It’s an afternoon of family fun planned with kids in mind but information and entertainment also make for a great experience for parents and grandparents too. There is something for everyone, including four inflatables for the little ones and older children, roaming characters, stage entertainment, hands-on activities and much more.

What are the costs to attend?
Admission is free for all kids under 18. Adults pay $7 each and are registered for door prizes through Eventbrite. You must pre-register to be eligible to win a door prize.
Pre-register by buying adult admission here.

Which activities cost at Kids Fest?
Our more than 70 booths feature a free hands-on activity for kids as well as free inflatables and there are no admission fees for children. Facepainting by Kaleidoscope Arts and caricatures from Chester's Party Barn are the only activities with any additional fees. New in 2019 is a "Maker's Fair" area where kids and their parents can explore tinkering and making, learning about wind energy, making art and meeting makers. Makers Fair is hosted by Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma and MetroFamily Magazine.

What prizes will be given at Kids Fest?
Door prizes from many of the featured vendors will be given out at the event. For these prizes, you must be present to win. We draw the winners from the entries submitted throughout the day. You must pre-register online for door prizes.

Will food be available at the event?
Food is available for purchase; MetroFamily has no control over what is offered/charged. Pizza, frozen yogurt, soda and water have been sold at the event in the past.
Where should I park for Kids Fest?
The easiest parking is under the Cox Convention Center, $10 per vehicle. When parking, try to find the elevators closest to the southwest or northwest corners to be closer to the Kids Fest area. Those elevators are painted yellow or orange. You can also choose to pay to park along the streets around the building or in other parking garages. Another option is to park offsite and ride the OKC Streetcar to the Cox Convention Center.

What entertainment will be present at Kids Fest?

Raechel Brown of Kaleidoscope Arts will be painting faces.

Chester's Party Barn will provide facepainting, a caricature artist, a balloon artist and a small petting zoo.

Forever After Parties' costumed superheroes and princesses will pose for photos.

Our emcees for the day will be Maggie Carlo and Evan Onstot.

Each local participant present will work with your child to create something or teach more about their art, science or business.  Kids and their parents can explore tinkering and making, learning about wind energy, making art and meeting makers.
