Saturday's forecast is sunny! Get out and finally enjoy autumn this weekend

Oklahoma City family fun is sure to happen this Saturday.

This season has been strange and not in the usual spooky Halloween time of year way. The weather has certainly been dark and kind of mysterious, with some fog fitting of All Hallow's Eve, but it still doesn't feel like a typical autumn.

This is the first year we don't have pumpkins or costumes yet; our decorations are sparse and we're just not in that frame of mind this week.

Rain has really quashed our outdoor plans and I think that's true for a lot of families right now. Rock the Block, the Dolese Touch-a-Truck event I mentioned a few weeks ago, has moved to this Saturday, Oct. 20. Our neighborhood festival has changed dates and we haven't made it out to Pumpkinville at Myriad Botanical Gardens with its new carousel yet, which ends this Sunday. If we miss it, at least the carousel will still be around.

I can't remember a rainier fall but this Saturday's forecast calls for sun! Get out and enjoy it before the rain starts again.

Here are three autumn-themed collections of lists to make the most of the sunshine:

Grab your galoshes and go see a corn maze while it's less muddy. This list of pumpkin patches and farm activities has my attention right now. The whole farm experience is getting more likely for us to actually get out and do with the promise of good weather.

Any day of the week that you're looking for a fun community event, no matter the weather, find them all here on our calendar.

Happy Fall Break!
