DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that allows the community to support public school teachers. Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that most inspires you. You can search by location or project area of interest from art or math to field trips or specialized classroom equipment. www.donorschoose.org

Assistance League of Norman's Operation School Bell provides new clothing and books in a retail-like environment to children in need. Children are referred to our program by their teachers and school counselors.
The Back-to-School Program at Urban Mission provides school supplies for local children qualified as low income. Bring your school supplies list to Urban Mission (3737 N. Portland) between Monday through Thursday during pantry hours to pick up the supplies you need. Parents must bring proof of residency, proof of income, ID for child and printed school supplies list. Sharing Tree's Classroom Connection helps kids in need get school uniforms. Donations can be dropped off at 5728 S May Ave or mailed to P.O. Box 891020, OKC, OK 73189.
Coat-A-Kid helps kids succeed in the classroom by ensuring their basic needs are met so they can reach their full potential. When temperatures drop, thousands of Oklahoma City Public Schools students will not have a coat to keep them warm. It costs just $20 to coat a kid, $500 to coat a classroom and $5,000 to coat a school.
The Oklahomans' Newspapers in Education program is conducting a supply drive for local teachers. Every $25 donation purchases one school supply pack for a teacher in need and includes a $5 donation to Newspapers in Education. For every supply pack purchased, donors will receive an entry into a drawing to win a trip to Napa, CA.
United Way of Norman's ABC School Supply Program distributes free school supplies to low-income families in Norman and some surrounding communities. Pre-K through 12th grade students in Norman, Noble, Little Axe, Lexington and Robin Hill are eligible to apply for the ABC School Supply Program.
Sunbeam Family Services Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) School Supply program serves approximately 500 children every year with back-to-school backpacks full of pencils, pens, notebook paper, folders and much more. The GRG program provides support, education and resources for grandparents 55+ who are raising grandchildren without parents in the home in Canadian, Cleveland, Oklahoma and Logan counties. Our Sister's Closet is in need of new and gently used clothes for all ages. Much needed items are jeans, pants in common school uniform colors (navy, black, khaki), shorts, capris, Polos, t-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, tennis shoes and dress flats. Donations can be dropped off at 2209 SW 74th St or at the YWCA in Oklahoma City at 2460 NW 39th St. Mention the back-to-school drive when you drop off your donations, and you'll receive a coupon to shop in August.

The Moore Chamber's Fill The Bus Campaign encourages area businesses to host supply drives in the Moore community. Donate much needed things like paper, pencils, markers, crayons and more at one of the four events planned this summer. The donations will go to Moore Public Schools. The Downtown Edmond Business Association is collecting school supplies and monetary donations for local schools in the area. Items most needed are boys and girls underwear, sweatpants and shorts in preschool to first grade sizes, colored construction paper, number two pencils, colored pencils, crayons, spiral notebooks, notebook paper, facial tissue, washable markers, sanitizing wipes, glue, pocket folders, all sizes of plastic storage bags and monetary donations. Donations will be accepted until August 10 at Autoworks, Broadway Antiques, California Closets, Cinnamon Bears, the Edmond Sun, Farmers Insurance Michelle Schaefer, Fashion Boutique, the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond, Gathered Home Shop, Maison Bleue, McCalls, Rumors Salon, Silver Leaf Gems and Sterling's Home Decor and Gifts.
FREE SONIC's Back to School Bash at the Urban League (3900 N Martin Luther King Ave) celebrates the return of school with FREE school uniform vouchers (while supplies last), field day activities and a community resource fair. Children and parent/guardian must be present and latest report card or proof of enrollment required for uniform vouchers. Donations accepted. Volunteers needed, sign up here. 8 a.m. - noon.

Back to School Event at the Citizens Caring for Children Resource Center (730 W Wilshire Creek Blvd Ste 112). Citizens Caring for Children host an annual event to provide foster children clothes and supplies needed for school. Each kid gets a personal shopping experience. Preregister. Day of Hope at People’s Church OKC Campus (800 E Britton Rd) offers haircuts, medical & dental exams to kids in kindergarten to 12th grade and backpacks & school supplies for kids in kindergarten to 5th grade (child must be present) while supplies last. 8 a.m. - noon. Health professionals, barbers/hairstylists and general volunteers are needed to assist the event. Donations to purchase school supply kits accepted.
FREE Block Party Back-to-School Night at Passion Church (3301 N Council Rd, Bethany) offers a fun time and free school supplies, hair cuts, immunizations, a free meal, clothing & shoes and more. 6 - 9 p.m.
FREE Feeding 5000 & More at OKC Faith Church (I-40 & Portland) will be handing out backpacks full of school supplies as well as 10,000 burritos and drinks. Backpacks are available to school age children Pre-K-12th. 8-11 a.m. (or while supplies last). Donations can be made online or at the church.
FREE Back to School Round Up at Alameda Church of Christ (801 E Alameda, Norman) provides backpacks with school supplies to families in the Norman area while supplies last as well as an information fair for parents with local non-profit organizations, lunch, kids’ activities and FREE haircuts for students. 9 a.m. - noon.
FREE Slip-n-Slide Family Celebration at Family of Faith Church (13500 SE 15, Choctaw). Backpacks, hot dogs and nearly new clothing will be given away while supplies last. Includes inflatables and more. 9 a.m. – noon.
Oklahoma City & Boys Ranch Town's Back-to-School Dinner Event at Embassy Suites (2501 Conference Dr, Norman) features dinner and a style show. Proceeds benefit a special fund to provide yearly clothing and other basic needs of children at Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. $20. 5:30 p.m.
FREE Back to School Bash at Capitol Hill Baptist Church (304 SW 134th St) features FREE school supplies, inflatables, games, FREE food, drinks and door prizes. School supplies will be given to kids present at the bash in grades pre-k through grade 12, while supplies last. 4 - 6 p.m.
